my you're fast. heeheeh.
thank you! :)
yes, the fairies say the same. :) i can't stop them from coming in.

oh, did you know... there's this absolutely FANTASTIC and not expensive it all shop in London... near Mme Tussaud's. i can't recall its name. but if you're standing right by Tussaud's and it's on your right side you just walk straight on and watch out for the shop on your right side. :)
it's not far.
well, they have sooo many fairies (figurines) and also other fantasy-themed ones. of all sorts. from cute ones to *niiiice* ones, different materials, etc. and as said, very affordable.
mum and me sort of accidently landed there and very, very accidentaly came out with a bag full. :)

I really like the card, top left. I don't know why but it reminds me of one of my favourite paintings, which is on permanant exhibition at the Christchurch (NZ) Art Gallery. It's called, In the Wizard's Garden. http://www.christchurchartgallery.org.nz/Collection/Infosheets/70_44.pdf

hmh, i'd say that in a way it has the same atmosphere about it?
both seem very quiet moments, yet there's a tension in them.
as the description for this one says (that was a really interesting read, too - i love seeing symbolism in paintings - i got a little trained in that by my art history teacher at DMS, only a little though), too.
two women, slightly same positioning, too. :)

sometimes a picture or person reminds one of something that doesn't seem even a bit alike, yet there is *something* about both. :)

i like Briar's cards a lot. not all of them the same, but especially these pagan winter cards are really beautiful works.

I think it was just the position of the woman that I found similar, but it was a strong feeling when I saw the picture of your card. It was, 'I know what that's like!' As you say, there is a tension there. I'm really not much of a fan of Victorian art (I love French impressionism and post-impressionism) but I remember walking through the gallery in Christchurch and just being captivated by this painting. I stood there looking at it for ages and even went back to it later.

I thought you might like the costume too. :))

sometimes a piece of art suddenly has a certain strong effect on oneself, without it being the *typical* thing one usually likes. :)
i guess that says something about the artwork...

yes, the costume's nice, too. :)))
it's the paintings and carpets and such where we medieval-fairs-goers usually get our costumes ideas from. ok, and movies as well. :) thus such things are most welcome. :D
